Man I feel old!!
Tonight Gray and I went to the temple and we got a babysitter to watch Wehilani. After picking up the babysitter and giving her instructions on the peanut's bedtime routine, I had this flashback to when I used to be that young woman sitting in the passanger seat getting the instructions. It was just a weird feeling and a sad realization that I am getting old.

Thank you Grandma Ronk
For Wehilani's 1st birthday Grandma Ronk got her an Amish Rocking Chair. It is just the most beautiful chair I have seen, the workmanship is beautiful and I know this will be something that she will have for the rest of her life.
With that said, last night we had Subway for dinner and after I had finished my drink, Wehilani thought that she would be a "big girl", well she is one you know :), and she decided to take my drink and have a sip. She walked around with it, played with the straw and sat and relaxed in her new rocking chair. Enjoy!!!

Miss Spider Birthday Party
I know, Iknow, Wehilani's birthday party was 2 weeks ago, but I have just been able to get around to loading all the pictures. Her little party was so much fun, we had tons of family and friends that came to celebrate and enjoy the wonderful, but outrageously hot day, with us.

I do have to say though, never get shots the day before a big event. Wehilani had another round of shots on Friday, the day before her birthday party (her birthday is actually April 4th, conference weekend and I guess from now on, we will be celebrating her birthday the week after) and boy she was not to happy the next morning. She woke up with a little fever and just lathargic, so I gave her some Infants Motrin and she fell back asleep. Well we ended up taking her over to Aunt Jenny's in her jammies, without a bath, hair not done (see pictures below) ,
and still sleeping. When we got there, she woke up, but I still didn't have time to give her a bath, so we got her dressed and we went about our day. Well she fell back asleep, she slept for about an hour into her party and then woke up, still a little grogy, from shots and sleeping. After seeing all the people she woke up enough to go on a bug hunt and play with all the kids.

After the bug hunt (thank you Aunty Booty for the bugs), we got to eat, open presents and eat cake.

I just want to thank Aunty Kay for the wonderful cake and cupcake toppers (thank you Kay for all the decorations and things you got, it made everything look great), everyone loved them.

Well by the end of the party, she was feeling much better, but then on Monday she got a stomach bug that was going around and boy that is a whole other story to write about.

The Best Shoes Ever!!
When we got home today there was a package in the mail for Wehilani. It was from Aunty Malia, Uncle David, the boys and Car Car. We opened it and guess what was inside? Well Aunty Malia, being the crafty aunty that she is, had made a snack box with her name on it and put some treats inside. There were a pair of shoes and a cute bag with a puppy inside. Well I left Wehilani in the front room with Gray and I hear him laughing and I go in there and she has her shoes on and guess what they were doing? Take a look!!
These are the best shoes ever. Thank you Siufanua family. I do have to say, the first thing that she really notice was the food. This girl really is polynesian. At first she could really care less for the shoes or the puppy, but after she got used to her shoes, she didn't want them taken off. After we got home from FHE, I took them off to get her ready for bed and she tried to put them back on and after awhile she couldn't do it, so she handed them to me and stuck out her foot to have me put them on her. I put them back on and that is the video that we have.

Scary Easter Bunny!!

So the other day I showed this picture to one of the girl's in the office and she freaked out. She told me that as a kid, she hated taking pictures with the Easter Bunny, she said that he would creep her out. When I looked at it after she had said that, I thought, he is kind of creepy.
With that said, here is the Peanut and the Easter Bunny. I know she looks like she is crying, but actually she is laughing and yes I know she looks like a rag-a-muffin. Poor little baby, we had went to a friends baseball game earlier in the day and went straight over to the mall for the picture.

Peanut's 1st trip to the LA Zoo

Why is it that we, as parents of 12 month children and younger, think that they will remember their first time to the zoo or amuzement park? The other day the Peanut's babysitter took her children to Disneyland and the Peanut went along. At first I was like "sure no problem", but then I got thinking about it, this is going to be her first time to Disneyland and it was not with Mom and Dad. Than I thought a little more about it, I said to myself "Self, why are you so worried about it, she is only 10 months old and there will be no pictures taken to show that she went without Mom and Dad". So the next time we go to Disneyland, I will take tons of pictures and it will be like the first time she ever went.
With that said, we decided to go to the LA Zoo for Valentine's Day. I thought that would be cool for the Peanut to see all the animals that are in her books up close and personal. When we got there she had just woken up from a nap in the car, she was a little groggy and not ready to be entertained by animals. Ofcourse everyone else in Southern California had the same idea. All I could see when we got in was a sea of strollers and little people. We ofcourse had to make a stop at the souvenir shop, which by the way was the first place that you see before seeing the animals, to get something to show that we had been there. We got a shirt for Gray and a safari hat with a ribbon around it that said "Los Angeles Zoo" for the Peanut. Now with shirt and hat in tow, we went along our merry way, she woke up somemore and she started to act like she knew what was going on, I do have to say every now and then she whould point, make noises and stare at the animals, but most of the time she was more in to the kids in the other strollers or what Gray, Jen or Stefan had in their hands. We were there for about 5 hours and it was pretty fun, we got to see a bunch of animals, she got to go to the zoo for the first time with Mom and Dad and I took tons of pictures, so she would remember her first trip to the zoo, but lets be honest with ourselves, we all know that those pictures are for the benefit of the parents and all the scrapbooks that will be made for her memories.
Hope you all enjoyed our first little family blog. Talk to you all later and have a wonderful night.
